Can you add feature to disable sleep mode when use MobileRSS.
Now I have more than 150 feed in Google reader and mobileRSS take very long time to refresh all but I use in iPod touch and went MobileRSS to archive all feed when offiline, I must touch my screen many time to keep refresh alive.
"bug fix"? Could you be more specific?
Can you please make it to where we can change the account name in the header? I would like the option to be able to edit this header and just have it say my name not full email address. That would make this app perfect! Other than that great job on the update.
Can you please add google bookmarks support as well same like delicious ??? thanks alot
I remember the font size of the articles in the "original link" changed with that of the settings, but it doesn't work in the latest version. Now the font is too small to read...
Could you please add this feature back?
i REALLY dislike the new icon. It's too bad that you had to change the icon in this update. Can you change it in the next update though.
Hey guys, I think the new icon is extremely ugly too, it doesn't fit in with the other stylish iPhone icons.
I agree with Kevin, can you please please consider changing it in the next version?
Please how about a wipe left or right to advance through articles? Those up-down arrows are hard to get right. Also please add 'save image' while in browser mode, please??? Mobile RSS rocks, we love u!
P.S.: It would be really really nice to see a smooth scroll effect when pressing the up / down keys to browse articles, just like Tweetie2. Just a simple animation, looks wonderful in Tweetie. MobileRSS feels a bit plain in comparison.
About the icon : what part exactly is on copyright ? The "waves" ? Please be more specific, I'm sure some of your fans (like... me ^^) is able to help you creating a logo wich is easily recognizable as an RSS App and a Google App. Unlike the actual one :(
finaly, all of Nibirutech apps' icons are ugly.
Love it! Especially the full screen mode is awesome..
Argh... To be honest I'm mostly unhappy with this update :( The full screen mode is a good idea but I hate having to shake to activate. And I'd prefer not to see the transparent bar at the top. And I'm not clear of the purpose of the left/right arrows.
I miss the pull down page-flipping. Maybe it could be an option?
I'm not sure what block advertisements is supposed to do. I still see ads on both the article summary and the original web page.
I miss the old icon. It was perfect.
Thank guys, I love that you guys keep adding features. Thank you!
Some things done, new things emerged.
First of all, I appreciate you guys keep working on this helpful application.
And although it has been improved in quite many ways, I've also noticed some new issues.
1. It seems video clips like YouTube aren't resized properly in the standard view.
2. The icon, which is quite not-good-to-see, don't replace the icon in the iTunes applications pane. So they look different now.
3. I don't see the meaning of the ad-filtering since I still see some ads in feeds.
4. Sometimes it gets back to the root page automatically, which confuses me. Because I didn't mark all as read or something like that, I think there're some issues about under what condition it activates.
5. I don't see the whole list of feeds, only updated ones at the root page. And the interface to rename/move/upsubscribe a feed became hard to reach for me.
Well too many complains I think. I hope this app become the most cool RSS reader in the iPhone world. Thx.
I completely must agree with rfc469 about the flip scrolling, that feature really needs to be there I think :) In addition, the full screen mode could be better, here are 2 ideas:
1) Remove the top menu and bottom icons in full screnn mode entirely
2) To move to the next feed, either flip down motion or drag left / right would be nice, to return to normal view, you shake
Full screen would be great without any distractions :)
It seems that when there is a new update on any app we immediately focus on the things that we don't like. So here goes:
That new icon. Man what a shame. The last one was great and this one, well I really hope that a lot of time wasn't spent on it because it is awful!
The page flipping has gone! Having used a few reader apps this was the first time that I came across this and LOVED it. And now it has gone. This takes the app a step back and places it firmly in the ranks of the other ones out there with nothing special to make it stand out from the masses.
It seems a shame that when an update comes along that has features that are really not liked we don't have an option to roll back the app to the previous version, because I would definitely do that in this instance if I could. Maybe when I have used the app some more and find something good to say I can add a more positive update, but until then...
Yep, I have to start making it a habit to backup my apps before updating.
Regarding:
3. I don't see the meaning of the ad-filtering since I still see some ads in feeds.
Today, I actually did come across a feed which normally would have Google ads on it, but MobileRSS actually removed them. So it appears that the functionality is limited, but does work in a few cases.
I really do hope that everyone's comments will be taken into account. In addition, as I mentioned earlier, a nice simply scroll effect when pressing the Up/Down arrows to scroll through feeds would look much much nicer :) Again, this may be optional, but I think most people will love it.
I'll be waiting for the next version before upgrading to Pro (still using the Free one at the moment).
+1 for those who dislike the new logo (can you please at least let a us the possibility to change it with the old one in iTunes).
+1 I do realy miss the pull down page flipping. I found it very cool and usefull.
The fullscreen is a nice feature.
I've got some crushes from time to time while click on Mark all as read.
Great that you're continuing to update the app.
It would be nice if you could look at the saving of the scroll position within articles. This isn't accurate in long articles and gets messed up after restarting the app.
I would also really like to see a "save to Evernote" function - also from within webpages in the built-in browser. I beleive they have an API that would enable you to implement this.
Thanks for a great app! I use it everyday and it's my favorite app.
I have one wish though. When having lots of articles in a feed I would prefer it to be sorted with the oldest article first. Maybe it could be an option if someone wants to see the newest first in the article list.
I know friends of mine that uses this app also wants this feature.
Maybe a feature for 2.5?
Great app and really enjoy it. - I use it every day!
The current release is a little buggy. - I'm finding that the syncing of unread items doesn't always work because the app marks things as read but somehow doesn't tell the server that they are read. So it re-downloads them as if they were still unread.
Oh and the new logo sucks. How about running a competition for your users to design you a new logo? You have quite a community and should make use of it.
Great app. Best reader available.
I agree with the other comments here regarding the icon. The new icon isn't that great looking and needs updating! Even the old one looked better than the new "MR" version.
I'd be pleased to compile information on icon design. A critical no-no is letters/words; we know who you are it's labeled on our homescreen. Take a minute to look at apporacle.com, in fact probably just hire them.
Major syncing issues when using Google Reader then returning to MobileRSS. I can't even use the application because I end up reading things in triplicate.
The images and header (light blue title element) often take more than 30 seconds to load when offline.
Why was the pull-down page flipping feature removed?
My "all items" view has nearly 400 items cached. When do these get removed from memory? It seems like the app gets less responsive unless I uninstall/reinstall to clear old articles from the cache, even if I choose to display only 50 items per page.
Also i guess the huge cache of old posts is using a lot of storage because iTunes takes ages to backup my iPhone with this app installed.
How can I set it to keep only a limited amount or period of unread posts?
Am i missing something? How do you add multiple accounts?
I've had several crashes myself and when a new feed is added it does not show on the app. I have to remove my account and add it back just to get new feeds to show that I have subscribed to.
Hi,
Very good app. I tried the free one, and I would like to purchase the ad-free version.
However I cannot find the differences between the premium version and the pro version.
Mobile RSS Pro is more expensive. What are its additional features?
Thanks
Yes, I am also curious about the difference between the free and paid versions. I only know the paid version has no ads, but there must be more to make it worth buying.
There are 3 versions of Mobile RSS: Pro ($2.99), Standard ($1.99), and Free (ad-supported). The Standard version doesn’t include search and add feeds, however, the Free version does (albeit ad-supported).
I've just started using MobileRSS Pro, ver 3 and have a couple of questions:
When you are reading an multipage article and are at the bottom, is there any way to go back to the article list without scrolling back up to the top and using the pulldown?
When you are reading an article and want to view the original article via a mobilizer, can you make that the default from the > at the article title, rather than having to having to press the file cabinet at the bottom right of the screen and select Mobilizer? Thanks.
