Crash on TwitBird

Hello, I'm Klaus, the representative of twitbird team, I'm so sorry for the crash problem in recent updates. Please let me explain why it crash and how you can fix it.

The reason why twitbird crash on your device, is data migration. Apple provides a mechanism called Core Data that stores your data in the app. When the data structure change, there should be a data migration to move old data structure to the new one. Unfortunately, we did a bad job in twitbird v2.3, many users of twitbird encountered a crash when update from v2.2.1 or v2.2 to v2.3 and following versions like v2.4 and v2.4.1.

To fix the crash is simple, just delete the twitbird app, restart your device, and re-download twitbird. Re-download twitbird is free of charge with your same iTunes Account, re-buy global push is also free of charge with your same iTunes Account AND same twitter username.

We apologize for the crash event on twitbird, sorry. Please delete and re-download twitbird to your device if it still crashes after an update. Sorry.

It has always worked flawlessly here. TwitBird never lets me down! Actually, I wish it had the new RT mode, but besides that...

It still crashes! Nothing works! It is extremely slow! I think you should give me back my money! The worst application on my iPhone.

I can't delete the DM's. After I deleted them, they still remained.
I've already reported this problem but you didn't answer.

Maybe it has something to do with the iPhone version. I have the latest upgrades and have not had any problems whatsoever. I still have the free version, too. I am hesitant to buy unless I know the paid version will work as flawlessly as the free one. Is this problem more prevailent in the paid version?

Let's be honest here. This is getting ridiculous. I have tried the delete/ reinstall steps more than 4 times from both my Mac and my iPhone and I am still getting crashes with both Pro and Premium versions of Twitbird.

Add to this continued crash irritation, the fact that after repeatedly filling out the global push failure form with no fix being made I am really losin faith in this company's interest in ensuring I get what I paid for.

For ever good thing added it seems one or two other things break or get worse. I want my global push fixed, and this crash stuff remedied, please. I have spent a lot of money on these apps an I am NOT getting what I paid for.

TwitBird has also worked flawlessly for me (meaning no crashes). I do have the most recent iPhone software upgrade, so not sure if that's a factor. The only thing that did happen was saved links got removed after an update, but not a deal breaker. I've used other Twitter apps & TwitBird exceeds by far. Keep up the good work & thanks for keeping your users informed.

As an iPhone developer myself, rebooting the device usually does nothing. Just FYI. It just makes the developers sound like they know what they are talking about. Which is what is pissing me off about this team.

Like mentioned before. For every new feature added, you break 4. Stop adding new features and concentrate on FIXING YOUR BUGS.

Yeah, I also tried the delete/reboot/reinstall several times and it still crashes. This WAS my favorite twitter client, but it's so irritating having it have to crash twice before I can read my tweets, I gave up. MY API limits are also sometimes reached within 2 or 3 uses and I only have recent tweets and mentions in my API setup.

I still don't, and never have, seen any "App Badges" on Twitird Pro. Can you explain why this wouldn't be working? I like apps with app badges, so I know if I need to come back to read unread tweets, postings, etc.

Anonymous said...

Hi, the badge means 'in-app-badge' as described in itunes app store, it's the unread number of each item.

I have a problem still.. DM's can't be deleted. I deleted DM's, after app restarted some of DM alive.

I am pleased to be solved this problem.

I am having a MAJOR problem with the TwitBird iPhone app. I got it about 6 months ago and it syncs my Facebook and Twitter so I don't have to update my status twice. But I've grown tired of it and I actually like the recent update that TwitBird Pro has for syncing with your Facebook. But the TwitBird iPhone app WILL NOT delete. I signed onto my Twitter account and could not find a delete button ANYWHERE and all there was, was a "revoke access" button. But every single time I tweet, it reactivates itself. It's so annoying! and I'm very upset with this application.

KLAUS PLEASE RESPOND!!!!!!

Please tell me why twitbird loads all the twibes lists and then tells me I used all my API?

I am stuck with 10,000 posts and as soon as I turned it on it loads even more.

Jesus!

I love Twitbird Pro, but it did start crashing on me all the time. This solution worked!

thank you.

When will their be social bookmark integration. The ONLY thing I really really want is to have integration with Delicious.

that would be sweet.

never mind. It's crashing all the time now. It happens when I go back to the Accounts screen.

Very frustrating.

For me it is crashing quite often and I've only had the one version for the iPhone 4.

Hey, im on twitbird premium, I bought the global push add-on, but every time the app launches, I have to enter my iTunes account password again & again & again. Please could you do something or just tell me what to do, it's really annoying!

I have found the application crashes on me with only one of my accounts. I have tried everything except connecting via SSH and deleting the darn thing. Rebooted, uninstalled, removed accounts, added accounts, cleared photo cache ... everything. The application still crashes within seconds when one of my Twitter accounts is loaded.
